The MSA Group has defined the 25GS-PON specification, which is seen as a crucial technology by many of the world’s top operators and vendors. 25GS-PON provides a cost-effective and timely network upgrade path that can meet the needs of the mobile 5G era and large-scale enterprises, where symmetrical connections become increasingly important.

The 25GS-PON MSA Group has created a specification for 25GS-PON, available in the Resources section of this website, which includes:

• An optical specification based on the IEEE 802.3ca 25G EPON standard
• A Transmission Convergence (TC) layer that is an extension of XGS-PON
